My Freedom Play LO

Heres my Play LO to go with last weeks Work LO, I am going to have to stop this project until I get home now as I can't take the piccys I need to scrap.

day 214

Day 214
Prompt 214
"Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.”
- Pope John XXIII (1881-1963), 261st Pope of the Roman Catholic Church

This is a whole new world that is opening up to me day by day. Why well chiefly because of how I feel now I've shedding the excess weight that has been a mask for so long. My friends are kind and tell me I always looked ok but I know different. Now that the real me is beginning to appear I just can't wait to have a go at more things and extent the range of my previously limited world. It is all possible it's just making the choices for what and where and when!

day 213

Day 213
Prompt 213
"Listen to the Musn't's child, Listen to the Don't's. Listen to the Shouldn't's, the Impossibles, the Won't's. Listen to the Never Haves, then Listen close to me. ANYthing can happen, child, ANYthing can Be.”
—Shel Silverstein (1930-1999), poet, songwriter, musician

Wise words, much like the conversations DD and I have been sharing the last couple of days. One of the major priviledges of this type of holiday is the time for us to really talk to each other. Gosh her plans and dreams sure do mean anything can happen and probably will.

day 212

Day 212

—Jerome P. Fleishman

This is so apt for me as it's weigh in day, I've lost 3 stone 1 and a 1/2 lbs thanks to SW. The support and encouragement is the key for me to achieve my goal and the shiny stickers make a real difference too!

I appreciate that DD is now here with me, and that the rain has stopped. It may not be for long by the look of the sky but we don't care all the more excuse to go shopping!

Ivy is the bain of my life in the garden whilst I don't mind it as a plant, it has created a complete hedge from the neighbours garden, again not an issue as it gives privacy. day 196

Day 196
Prompt 196

Pop(ular) Music - It is not a particular genre or style of music, but simply that which is the most popular for the tracked period of time.
What are you listening too on your ipod, CD player, radio?

Now we're talking I love all sorts of general pop music, from Donny to Westlife to Sheryl Crow to Simply Red and various other corners of the music globe. The Ipod is our freind as it holds something for all of us, which we then use in the car and in the boat. Happy lives.

Layout 28
I want you to scrap a layout dedicated to music. Maybe we have looked at a genre of music and memories from your era. Be inspired by music today.

Sunday 13 July 2008

day 195

Day 195
Prompt 195
Disco - The "disco sound" while unique almost defies a unified description as it was an ultra-inclusive art form that drew on as many influences as it produced interpretations.

Not many memories of discos for me except mainly watching the Italian Job being projected on the walls was quite a favorite. I looked for inspiration and spotted this while out browsing today couldn't believe my luck.

Saturday 12 July 2008

Shimelle's LO 1 and 2

Here are my LO's for the My Freedom class, on time and travel.

day 194

Day 194
Prompt 194
Rock and Roll - Far beyond simply a musical style, rock and roll influenced lifestyles, fashion, attitudes, and language.
Are you influenced by fashion, music or even what you see and read in the news?

I have no piccy for rock and roll, although I am an Elvis fan. But immeadiately thought of my chair in my craft room it's gas mechanism is broken so it certainly rocks and rolls, I really must replace it before we have an accident in it! So here's me rock and rolling my way to scrap Tee Hee.

Thursday 10 July 2008

day 193

Day 193
Prompt 193
Classical - Often perceived as opulent or signifying some aspect of upper-level society

I don't know about upper level society but we have been known in the past to attend the Henley Music Festival on many occasions. It certainly is a cut above and is all about the music. It allows access to classical amongst others that thrill the clients as they are presented in such a way that everyone can enjoy them to the full. I'm not normally a classical fan but I do love this event, it is now unfortunately a little too pricey, but good memories of previous years are kept forever.

Wednesday 9 July 2008

Shimelle's Bonus Page

This is my first LO for the Shimelle My Freedom project. It is the bonus LO on a travel quest you would love to do if money were no object and responsibilities gone etc. this weekend. Well I'd be off to the Keys for a rest and recuperate. I love the atmosphere there and the sense of fun.

day 192

Day 192
Prompt 192
Country Music - Think Dolly Parton, cowboy boots and line dancing!

Oh Anna thankyou, I can do this one!

In the 90's I was heavily into Line dancing, the photo is of a group I danced with. Ten of this group and myself made it through to the British team line dancing championships and came second! It's the only thing in my life I have been awarded cups for and I loved it.

day 191

Day 191
Prompt 191

Punk Rock - Punk rock (often referred to simply as punk) is an anti establishment rock music genre and movement
I can think of the journalling for these promots but am struggling with the pic's, so none for me as yet will try to put one in later.
But I remember the punk era whilst I was at school and my two best friends and I couldn't have been further from it if we tried. This made our year 5 skit in the variety show that year a real hoot, as we wrote an ode to Punk Rockers, dressed as them and sang our hearts out! It really gave the teachers a fright as they weren't allowed to watch our rehearsals just had to live with what we did on the night! Luckily it went down a storm and I still remember the first line of the song as I've been a Punk Rocker for many a year...
Unfortunately there are no piccy's of it so I think I'll leave it to your imaginations.

Tuesday 8 July 2008

What part of Glam Rock will inspire you today? Were you even born yet, do you have a memory from the 70's to journal ?

I barely remember the 70's but one thought that came to mind, was when I was on a school trip to see Joseph in Oxford and Gary Glitter was the Pharaoh!!!!! How badly cast was that then, with the benefit of hindsight of course.
